Fascias & Soffits

uPVC Fascia and Soffit Replacement

The fascia is the board along the eaves that carries your guttering, and the soffit is the panel beneath it running back to the wall. Painted timber boards take in rain once the paint fails, then rot, loosen gutter brackets and let birds in. Replacing them with uPVC is the right call when the timber has softened or needs repainting every few years.

  • Freefoam uPVC in white, black, grey or woodgrain finishes
  • Old timber removed over rot, never simply capped over
  • Rafter ends and eaves felt checked once the boards are off
  • Gable bargeboards replaced to match the rest of the roofline

FAQs

Fascias & Soffits FAQs

How do I know my fascias and soffits need replacing?

Paint that keeps flaking, gutters sagging away from the board, birds getting into the eaves and dark staining on the soffit are the usual signs. Whether the timber is actually rotten is something we confirm during the survey. If it turns out to be sound you might only need it painting, and we will say so.

Is capping over the old boards a good idea?

Only where the timber underneath is sound and dry. A cap-over is quicker, but it seals any rot in behind plastic where nobody can see it spreading. We check the boards when we look at your roof and recommend full replacement if the timber has started to go.

How long does replacing fascias and soffits take?

A typical semi or terraced house usually takes a few days, depending on the length of roofline, how many gables there are and whether any rafter ends need repair. Scaffold or access towers go up first. You will have a realistic timescale with your quote.

What makes one fascia and soffit job cost more than another?

The length of eaves and gables, whether we replace the timber or cap over it, any repairs to rafter ends, the colour or finish you choose, and whether you want new guttering fitted at the same time. Height matters as well: a bungalow is simpler to reach than a three-storey gable.

How do I arrange a quote for fascias and soffits?

Give us a call or fill in the quote form, ideally with a photo of the eaves. The survey and quote are free: we come out, measure up and check the timber, then send a written quote showing exactly which boards are being replaced and what finish they will be.
